Describing her artistic vision, Hala states “My work is about connections, linked to human personal stories, principally mine; my encounters are the starting point. I observe faces, voices, tones, language, body movement and human interaction. Personal histories of displacement are my obsession, the fuel that drives my art since leaving Syria, relocating in multiple places, always aware of the fragility of the present, and almost always expecting the subsequent eventual relocation.”
